About Marco Island

Marco Island is a sun drenched jewel on the edge of Florida’s Gulf Coast.  The island is one of the 10,000 islands. It is an island of 24 square miles and 6 miles of beach and 100’s of miles of waterways.  It is located just south of Naples Florida. There are two good options for accessing the island via air travel.  Southwest Regional Airport (RSW) is located in Fort Myers, FL and is about an hour from the airport to our home.  The other option is Fort Lauderdale Airport (FLL).  This is located about 90 miles across Alligator Alley from our home.

Marco Island is home to just over 16,000 permanent residences and grows significantly during the winter months to just over 40,000.  Marco Island is known for its high quality of life, natural resources, casual atmosphere and friendly people.

Marco Island offers most water sports right on the island.  You can find kayaking, jet skiing, water skiing, para sailing, on-shore and off-shore fishing, and much more. Marco Island is also known for its’s wonderful shelling.

Located just a short drive from the Everglades, you can easily enjoy a day seeing the beautiful, natural sites within the Everglades.  Enjoy an airboat ride through the blackwater or a canoe trip where you are sure to see an array of birds, turtles, and yes, alligators.
